We recycle bags from the grocery ...Pick me pick me!
We recycle bags from the grocery store - big ones go in trash bins to use for collecting garbage (I haven't had to buy them in forever) and small ones go to the car. I also use English Muffin bags or other bread bags one would normally throw out as trash bags in the car too.Jennyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10571770307903319724noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2858529909602945521.post-46368265230717241382010-02-16T19:21:23.601-08:002010-02-16T19:21:23.601-08:00That is a cute little recycling can. You know all ...That is a cute little recycling can. You know all of those little tiny pieces of paper that fly out when you pull a piece out of a spiral bound notebook? This is perfect for them. ;)howiec18https://www.blogger.com/profile/07318711747701542775noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2858529909602945521.post-84336301998193352132010-02-13T15:37:21.344-08:002010-02-13T15:37:21.344-08:001. um, sign me up?
2. If you are looking for a go...1. um, sign me up?
2. If you are looking for a good "green" way of keeping slugs out of your new cement form garden beds...
3. You can recycle those plastic tubs and make slug-catchers.
First: Find two plastic tubs (from your yogurt, butter, sour cream, etc.) that fit inside one another. Second: cut small holes or slits out of the bottom of the inner tub. Third: Fill at least half way or 1 inch deep with BEER (the cheaper, the better) and place the tubs around the outside of your garden. (of course, recycle those beer cans!)

You may bury the tubs so that they are flush with the ground, but it's not necessary.

The slugs will happily drown themselves in the beer. When it's time to empty the slug trap, simply lift the inner tub out slowly so that the beer can drain out, and toss the slugs aside (I just toss them into the lawn...perhaps the birds will find them)

My record was 55 slugs off of 2 cans of beer...it works great! And it's pesticide free!Janell and Russhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06312837482812210195noreply@blogger.com
